Design your own Blazing Beads and send them to me.
When caring for our afro hair, we create moments that are precious. This is illustrated in Chapter 24 โCornrow Bondsโ in my Halo Hattie novel. It describes Hattie getting her hair washed and styled by her mum, Ava. After, Hattie slides beads into the plaited strands of her hair.
In pre-colonial Africa, beads were emblems of regalia and wealth amongst others reasons. It is an African tradition which continues today. I invite you to design your own hair beads. Why not create your own beads? Click download.
